Clear or Refresh RAM on PC

Trying to boost up your PC as it running slow! Well this article will try to save a bit of your money and energy by telling you some of the ways you can do it.

The performance of your computer basically depends on RAM. Sometimes you need to clear computer RAM memory because a program is frozen and has stopped responding. The most effective way of clearing the RAM is by shutting down your computer.

If you are impatient enough, turn off the computer by pressing the power button. If you are very impatient, unplug the power cord of the computer.

If it's a laptop, disconnect the battery as well. The computer’s RAM memory will be cleared immediately. However, if you do this for a few days, I am sure you will be cursing me because it is quite possible that your computer might not run!

If you want to enhance speed without restarting your computer you can try the following things:

1. Delete Temporary files on your hard disk:

Procedure:

Open My Computer-> select your local drive (it is usually labeled as:\C) -> Select the Windows folder and locate the folder labeled Temp-> Use your mouse to right-click on the folder (not the contents) and in the View options, choose Details->Select all the files that are older than the current date and press the delete key ->When done, go to the Recycle Bin on your desktop and choose Empty Recycle Bin.You can also choose to delete the Temporary Internet Files that have accumulated on your system
Go to your Start button and open Control Panel -> Select Internet Options and in the section labeled Temporary Internet Files-> press Delete Cookies and Delete Files options. You can also delete your history by clicking the option Clear History
When done, press Apply and OK.

2. Free space on your hard disk:

Installing more programs will slow down your system automatically . Hence, I will suggest users with a hard disk capacity of 500GB to leave at least 50GB free and those who have a higher hard disk storage capacity to leave at least 20% of the total capacity free. This will hence allow your computer to have enough room both for temporary files and file swapping.

3. Check if your System is infected:

If your system is infected by virus and malwares, it will slow down your PC performance. Better do a complete Virus Scan. Also install a genuine Anti-Virus Program such as Kaspersky internet security with latest license.
